When disconnecting the power and hdd and then re-connecting it occasionally booted but eata shut down would fail to boot again so i figured the hdd was failing and bought a new one. So i will take it back complain and get a refund.

Several functions may not work. I searched high and low, even on here but no solutions. This was until I found one very old post from on another forum, that lead me in the right direction.
Posted 03 June – Click on the unzipped Exe file and it will ask you to put in a floppy disk. Can you post a photo?

When done, it should detect your hard drive with no satz and then you can continue to install XP as normal. I have read that the recovery disk should be able to boot to a new disk directly and do the configuration but i can’t seem to get it working.
Community Forum Software by IP. Click here to Register a free account now! Turns out it must have just been a loose cable somewhere after a strip down to the motherboard and a rebuild it detected the new hdd and so far the install is working.

In my case it was XP pro with SP3. Edited by hamluis, 27 March – Needless to m4000 it came back with the old hdd in it and running all slow and lagging and then it decided to fail at the boot screen again. Preparation Guide, Malware Removal Assistance.
And, of course, there’s always malware.
